I'm not sure where I picked it up, but for the longest time I had the idea that one day I would go before God and Satan would bring up every sin I have ever committed. Then, Jesus would say "not guilty!" and all would be well.

When I thought about it, it really made me sick.  Who would want to relive all that?  "Welcome to heaven, almost.  First you must sit and hear about how crappy you were as a human being before entering eternal bliss."

Thanks be to God he relieved me of that fear.  Remember what Jesus said just before dying? "It is finished." Done. Over. Handled. Taken care of. The sin was forgiven and forgotten. There is nothing for Satan to bring up because... IT IS FINISHED!

We are free in Christ.  We are righteous in Christ.  We are sanctified by His blood.  We are redeemed by His sacrifice. The victory is won. The verdict "not guilty" has already been given. We are free.
